Checking Out The Mesa Contemporary Art Museum and the Great Artwork

If you haven’t come out to see the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum you should when this COVID thing is over. Right now it is closed, but when it opens it is well worth your time. The museum is in the Mesa Art Center and close to a light rail station and has parking.

It is also nice to just walk about the Mesa Art Center and look at the outdoor art displays and architecture. There are also a few waterfalls and fountains to look at and enjoy.

Mesa Art Center

The Mesa Art Center is a performing and visual arts complex in downtown Mesa, Arizona. The art museum is housed on the same campus. There are also four performance venues and visual and performing art classroom studios. There indoor and outdoor multi-use areas scattered throughout the campus.

Mesa Contemporary Art Museum

The museum showcases contemporary art by emerging and internationally recognized artists. You will find smaller artists and many of them local.

As you drive by the Mesa Art Center you won’t see the museum from the street. All you will see is a small glass building and on the lower level is where the museum is located.

There are 5 large rooms that have an assortment of visual arts. Each room or gallery gets new art all the time so there is something new to see each time you visit. About every 3 months you will see brand new art on display.

The museum also offers lectures by artists and art workshops.

The museum is currently closed because of the pandemic, but they plan on opening on December 18, 2020.

The Valley Metro Light Rail station is just across the street from the Mesa Art Center which makes it very convenient. There is also plenty of parking near the center.

The museum is one of the best in town. It is a great place to take the family and get exposure to contemporary art. The art is always changing so the next time you come back it will be different and it will never get old.

The tickets are free (they do accept donations), but the museum is closed until December 18, 2020. When they open, they will have a limited amount of people allowed inside and the tickets will be sold with an entry time. You can get the updated information here.
